“Zero”
In April 2021, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya wanted people to think COVID’s danger was “very very close” to being gone. To numb people to the threat, he claimed that the risk of two vaccinated people giving each other COVID was “zero.”
“That was a lie”
Things didn’t turn out that way. However, instead of reflecting on how he overhyped vaccines in 2021, Dr. Bhattacharya later said that anyone who claimed the vaccines “stopped transmission” this way was spreading a “lie.”
Distrust the Platform
Today, Dr. Bhattacharya is justifying banning and defunding vaccines because people “distrust the platform.”
Dr. Bhattacharya isn’t wrong that trust in mRNA vaccines has cratered. I wonder who is to blame for that.
